République de Moldova

La République de Moldavie est un pays d'Europe de l'Est avec une population de 3,5 millions d'habitants et une espérance de vie à la naissance de 67 ans (hommes) et 75 ans (femmes). La Moldavie a traversé une période économique difficile après la chute du Rideau de Fer, et l’état de santé de sa population en a souffert avant de se redresser grâce à des politiques ciblant les populations les plus défavorisées. Sous la direction du Ministère de la Santé, un programme d’assurance maladie obligatoire a été introduit en 2004, et le système de santé qui avait été axé sur les soins hospitaliers avant les années 1990 a été réorienté vers les premiers soins ; ces évolutions ont permis d’élargir l’accès aux services essentiels de la santé.
